In January 2022 I was briefed on creating a short logo animation to be played at the end of videos for social media as marketing executive at Hardy Signs, in landscape and portrait formats. The idea for this animation was to tell a visual story in a few seconds of the services that the business provides. I was excited about taking on animation projects, as my manager had seen my animation portfolio and my skills learnt from University, and wanted to bring them to the marketing department of the company. I was the only employee who knew how to create animations on Adobe After Effects, a creative software which most people find confusing that I had disciplined myself to learn over the years.
The animation developed through research, ideation and storyboarding into the ‘Hardy Signs’ logo shown growing in size, symbolising the company growing, in a few different medium formats. The first shot showcases the logo as if it was being created on Adobe Illustrator, showing the ‘Design’ process of the company’s products. The second shot, signifies the illumination products that the company supplies or could also be seen as cutting around a sign through the ‘Manufacture’ process. The third shot, is a final shot of a sign as if it was just installed by the team, on the front of the HS building. These link back to the company’s services in design, manufacture and installation of signage, communicating these messages to audiences.
This animation elevates company branding and digital presence, as it has since been used at the end of every video on our social platforms and shows customers what our company does in an engaging and fast way.
